My Freezer Isn’t Working But My Fridge Is Fine?

When the evaporator fan motor fails, the refrigerator or freezer may overheat. You can check if the evaporator fan motor is causing the freezer problem by opening the freezer door and then manually activating the door switch. The evaporator fan motor blows air onto the evaporator coils and circulates through the freezer, if it is not running, the freezer will not cool down. Located behind the vent inside the freezer, usually at the back, the evaporator fan circulates fresh air.

Without this fan, the refrigerant will not cool enough to maintain the temperature in the refrigerator. When this fan is not working properly, the freezer may look normal, but it will be hot in the refrigerator. If the fan is not working, you will notice that your GE refrigerator is hot and your freezer is cold. When this happens, you may find that the freezer is fine, but the refrigerator will not cool.

If there are too many items in the freezer, they may be blocking the cool air from entering the refrigerator. It may sound trite, but a full freezer can block airflow, especially if the evaporator fan is covered with an ice cream bucket or bag of vegetables.

If the freezer is cold but the refrigerator is hot and the evaporator coils are frozen, the problem may be in the defrost system. If any part of the refrigerator’s defrosting system fails, ice can build up on the evaporator coils, causing the refrigerator to work harder to keep itself cool. However, if the defrost system is not working properly, the evaporator coils will freeze, leaving the Samsung refrigerator hot but cold in the freezer. If the evaporator coils are frozen, the required air will not be able to pass through them and this can cause the freezer to not freeze properly.

If the freezer starts to form ice in the wrong places, such as in the vents or on the evaporator coils, it could mean that the freezer is at the correct temperature, but the refrigerator is too hot. If the freezer is cold but the refrigerator is hot, the refrigerator and freezer cooling parts may be working properly. If you hear the compressor motor running and the freezer compartment is still not cooling, the problem may be with the evaporator or condenser coils.

Normally, when the thermostat requires additional cooling, the refrigerator condenser fan and compressor located on the back floor of most refrigerators are turned on. Generally, most refrigerators use a fan to move the cold air in the freezer to the evaporator, and then push the air into the refrigerator area to keep it cool. The temperature-controlled thermostat guides the voltage to the various parts of the freezer, and if it does not work properly, the freezer will not cool down.

To do this, the defrost thermostat must determine that the coil is cold enough. If the defrost heater is not turned on, frost will build up on the coils and eventually air cannot pass through the coils to keep the freezer or refrigerator cool. If the heater does not turn on within 30 minutes, the defrost timer must be replaced.

Make sure the instrument controls are set to 0 ° F (-18 ° C) for the freezer and 37 ° F (3 ° C) for the refrigerator. Make sure the temperature in the freezer is about 0 degrees Fahrenheit (-18 degrees Celsius) and the temperature in the refrigerator is about 37 degrees Fahrenheit (3 degrees Celsius).

The freezer temperature may be too low if the frost is light, snowy and seems to be all over the place. If the environment is too cold, the freezer may not work long enough to maintain its temperature. This, in turn, will prevent other components from properly cooling the refrigerator.

If the damper assembly is damaged, clogged, or simply stops working over time, not enough cold air will flow into the refrigerator section. Perhaps the sealed system is leaking, and there is not enough freon to cool the freezer to the desired temperature. In most cases, by correcting the problem causing the frost and allowing the freezer to perform a couple of defrost cycles, the excess frost can be removed and the appliance will return to normal operation.

Another thing that might make the freezer appear to be not working is the ice maker. Another parameter to check is whether the freezer is turned off.

If your LG refrigerator is not cooling but the freezer is working, try setting the defrost cycle timer. If frost builds up anywhere in your system, the freezer should continue to operate, but the refrigerator will be hot. Defective / damaged door seal: If the freezer door seal is severely damaged, there is a risk that cold air will escape from the appliance and hot outside air may enter. Although the defrost system of a refrigerator will usually melt this frost, if it is not working properly, frost builds up and blocks the air flow into the coils.

This means that the freezer compartment does not produce enough cold air to freeze the contents of the freezer compartment, but it produces enough cold air to cool the contents of the refrigerating compartment.

Hot refrigerant is cooled as it passes through these coils, providing fresh air for the refrigerator. However, if the condenser coils become covered with dust and debris, they will not be able to properly cool the refrigerant. This is because if they are excessively dirty they will not be able to dissipate heat efficiently, which will reduce the cooling capacity of your freezer.

If your model of freezer has condenser coils located behind the unit, this means that they will be susceptible to contamination. Dirty condenser coils cannot dissipate heat well and therefore affect the cooling capacity of the freezer. This freezer works by moving air along the condenser coils and dispersing it throughout the unit.

Basically what happens here is that the evaporator inside the freezer is not completely frozen. This allows sufficient cooling of the refrigerator compartment but not the freezer compartment.

This is the warmth you feel when you blow next to the freezer when it is in a refrigeration cycle. There, the refrigerant absorbs the heat inside the heated freezer and cools the contents even when the refrigerant turns into hot vapor again. The freezer compressor compresses the refrigerant, usually Freon, and then transfers it to the condenser.

Both sides of the LG refrigerator are cooled by cold air that is forced onto the evaporator coils by a fan, which then circulates the air to both sides.

When you find that your Whirlpool refrigerator is not cooling but the freezer is operating normally, a faulty evaporator fan motor is a common problem. This fan and motor, called the evaporator fan and motor, draws air into the evaporator coils and circulates it through the freezer and refrigerator. Make sure the vents at the back of the freezer are not blocked by boxes of ice cream or frozen vegetables – the vents must be clear to allow cold air to circulate.
