If the heating element does not work, the clothes dryer will spin until the cycle is complete, but it will not be hot enough to dry the laundry. When an electric tumble dryer heats up, this means that the circuit breaker or fuse that controls the current has blown, so reset and replace it. If a tumble dryer does not warm up because the air in its drum rotates, there is something that interrupts the heat source.

Factors that can accelerate the harmful process of heating element failure are an overloaded dryer, improper cleaning of ventilation pipes, fluff filters and poor ventilation. Heating problems with dryers can be due to clogged vents, worn wires, faulty heating elements, thermal cuts or fuses. Heating elements wear out over time, and overloaded dryers that do not clean lint screens or poor ventilation can speed up this process.

If your dryer does not heat up, it is caused 80% of the time by a defective heating element, and the other 18% by a blown thermal shut-off fuse, thermostat over cycle, or a faulty control panel or heating relay. If your dryer does not heat up, this is often due to the failure of the heater fuse or the thermal overload being cut off. If your thermal fuse is in order and the thermometer is checked, it is likely that the cause for no heat in your work dryer is a faulty coil.

If your dryer fails over and over and no longer produces heat, your first suspicion is a thermal fuse. In the case of electric dryers, the thermal fuse is the housing between the fan housing and the heating element.

Many manufacturers position the heating element on the back of the dryer, removes the drum of the rear dryer and removes the front dryer. The primary function of the heaters is to keep the dryers warm so that they can dry clothes. Dryers rely on heat and airflow to dry clothes, and when air flow is restricted the dryer is not heated.

If the air flow is restricted in the dryer the temperature can become too hot in the heating chamber and be blown through the thermal fuse. If the temperature rises too high, the thermal shut-off fuse in the heater unit, which protects against overheating and combustion, can prevent your dryer from heating properly. This upward drive occurs when a dryer operates without a normal thermal fuse, which prevents the heating element from receiving electricity and the dryers from producing heat.

If your dryer has a high thermostat limit and the temperature gets too hot, this can disrupt the electricity flowing to the dryer and the heater can continue a fire. After it has been proven that the circuit breaker does not blow and that the coils of the heating elements are not broken, it is time to consider the fuse for the thermostat in the dryer. If the dryers produce heat but do not heat, turn them off before it gets too hot, and check and clean the lint traps first to make sure they are not clogged with lint.
