My Freezer Has Shut Down And Won’t Come Back On?

When power is restored and the freezer is running but there is no sign of cooling down, wait at least 15 minutes for it to cool down again. The evaporator absorbs heat from the freezer, cooling the contents and converting the cooled refrigerant into hot vapor. The condenser coils convert the refrigerant from vapor to liquid, generating heat, the same heat that is heard at the freezer in the refrigeration cycle.

If you open the freezer door, more warm air will enter, drawing in the cold air needed to cool the freezer. The obvious purpose of your freezer is to freeze food, so the last thing you want is for the freezer to be too hot. The freezer is one of those devices that is generally not appreciated until it is properly frozen.
