My Ice Maker May Be Clogged. I Get An Occasional Ice Cube?

Some refrigerators are equipped with a sensor or timer that stops the ice maker when the water filter needs to be changed. When the filter is clogged, water cannot pass through to make ice, so you have to wait longer to fill your glass. The ice in the fridge seems tiny because the spout used to fill the mold with water doesn’t run at a fast enough speed.

As soon as the mold reaches the right temperature, the ice maker-refrigerator starts the harvest cycle, ejecting ice cubes and filling them with water. When the ice melts, it drips back into the water tank where it is used to make ice. When the room is too hot, the ice will melt into small pieces of ice. With a towel to collect the excess, you can also break through ice blockages quite easily by pouring hot water into a space where too much ice has accumulated.

It goes without saying that if that water can’t be pumped from the water tank to the cup at the top, you won’t have much ice.
