It worked normally for about 5 years until a layer of ice on the bottom of the freezer began to form and after several weeks of breaking and removing the ice began searching the forum for information.

Sometimes ice build-up can also (or exclusively) be hidden behind the back of the freezer so that the freezer compartment could not cool to the desired temperature due to limited airflow and / or cause loud combustion noise if the circulating fan gets stuck in ice.

Ice build-up in the base can be caused by a blockage in the channel that directs water to the evaporation pan. Many refrigerated ice makers have a locking lever designed to stop ice production when the storage bin is full and sometimes it gets stuck in the off position, however, this is often only a temporary solution because most people do not thaw it enough.

The blockage usually occurs due to hard ice in the drain hole behind the back wall or because there is ice behind the back wall, as this wall is insulated and ice will usually remain there during normal defrosting, so that in addition to cleaning the access you will need to place a rough towel there during this process.
