My Freezer Doesn’t Seem To Be Running?

The tight-fitting system might be leaky, with insufficient coolant to keep your appliances at their desired temperatures. If broken, a thermostat would be unable to read temperatures accurately, and would not be able to inform the appliance of the amount of refrigeration that is in the freezer.
A broken thermostat will not send electricity to the refrigeration system, and the freezer then does not get any cooling. If the freezer is cold, but the fridge is hot, then the parts cooling the fridge and freezer may be working correctly. If they are not, this could be the reason why the fridge is not cooling, but the freezer is.

The refrigerator door seals and the freezer seals are another possible cause of why your fridge is not stopping. When these fail, your fridge can get too hot, causing the refrigerator to continue running in an attempt to reduce temperature. If your fridge is constantly running, and does not shut down when it is supposed to, it could be one of several problems that are causing this.
This would make my fridge keep running, but it would not internalize cool down to its preset temperature. If these are clogged, then your fridge is going to work harder, but it is not going to cool down to set temperatures.

Check your thermostat; if it is not set at the correct temperature, my refrigerator is not going to get its work done. If your thermostat is temperature controlled, the temperature controlled thermostat may be making your freezer operate constantly. When the thermostat for malfunctioning defrost shutdown is faulty, it does not function correctly, causing the refrigerator to continue running.

If there is frost accumulation somewhere in your system, your freezer should still operate correctly, but your fridge will be warmer. If frost is a light, snowy, seemingly everywhere, your freezer temperature might be too low. If it is too cold, your freezer may not have enough running time to keep the temperature. If your freezer starts to make ice in the wrong places, like in vents or the coils of the evaporator, it could mean that you have the right-temperature freezer, but an overheated fridge.

Frost built up exclusively in the rear portion of your freezer, where the evaporator coils are, indicates a problem in your defrost cycle. If the back of the freezer, where the evaporator coil is located, is heavily frosted, a defrost problem may exist. To get to the defrost heater, you will have to take off the evaporator lid on the rear of the freezer. Check to see if the evaporator fan is stuck in ice, if it is, defrost your freezer.

To test the evaporator fan motor, your freezer maintenance specialist will open the units doors and manipulate the door switches. Another reason your freezer is running, but is not freezing, is because of a faulty evaporator fan. If you can hear the compressor motor running, and your freezer is not cooling at all, there may be an issue with your evaporator coils or condenser. If you do not hear the compressor clicking, and the freezer is not cooling, there may be something wrong with the compressor or the compressor startup components.

If you can hear the compressor running, but the refrigerator is not cooling, it is more likely that a frozen-over coil is causing problems, or that a fan in the refrigerator is jammed or broken. A broken or defective electronics control board can cause many problems, but one of the most common is that the compressor and fan motors are running constantly, to such an extent that they are stopping your freezer from closing. As you can probably guess, if an electronic display board is broken or has been damaged, this can cause a number of major problems. Most of the time, the reason why fridges are running continuously without cooling is because of either freon leaks or compressors that are not working properly and cannot push the freon into a sealed system.

When the fan is malfunctioning, it might look like everything is okay with the freezer, but the fridge looks hot. Checking might seem basic, but a freezer packed to the gills can result in an airflow obstruction, especially if your evaporator fan is covered with tubs of ice cream or bags of vegetables. A bad door seal lets warm air in and lets cold air out, enough that it can keep your freezer from freezing. If you are seeing lots of these telltale ice crystals, or it is been over a year since you defrosted the freezer, a simple defrost may be all that is needed, leaving the vents and coils breathing again and continuing their jobs.

Sometimes, manual defrosting can get a freezer back in working order. In most cases, fixing the problem causing the ice accumulation, and allowing a freezer to run a couple defrost cycles, will remove excess ice, and the appliance will return to working order. Not all freezers with no ice buildup will have a manual setting, and even if it does, you should still call in a repair specialist to repair or replace your defrost timer for you. Namely, defrost timer, defrost timer is what cycles your freezers heater in frost-free mode, so when it is not working properly, you are probably going to start seeing some build-up of ice, as your freezer is not going to be able to turn on its heater, so it is simply going on constantly.

After the compressor on the fridge has been running for about eight to 10 hours in a certain time frame, the defrost timer will kick off a defrost cycle, shutting off the compressor, to basically give it time to defrost. Make sure that your appliances controls are set at 0degF (18degC) for freezers, 37degF (3degC) for refrigerators. Depending on your appliance, the problem with the defrost could be caused by a defrost heater, cladding, a defrost sensor, or a bad control board.
